Trauma Therapy
If you have experienced a trauma in your distant or recent past, it can continue to have an impact in your daily life. A past trauma may be currently effecting your physical and emotional states. You might experience avoidance, feeling detached or shut down, or feel intense emotions unexpectedly. Even if you have experienced a collective or shared trauma, such as COVID, it is processed and experienced in a way that is unique to you. My approach to trauma therapy involves honoring your unique experience and developing tools to help you better cope with these difficult emotions, so that you can work towards healing.
I am also trained in TF-CBT (trauma focused- cognitive behavioral therapy), which is an evidenced based practice for children ages 3-18 who have experienced trauma. This modality equips children and teens with psycho-education, adaptive coping skills as well as a safe and structured space to process and heal from trauma.
