About Alyssa
Hi, my name is Alyssa and I believe that you are the guide in your therapeutic process, simply by being yourself. And I am here to join you in that process with support, authenticity, curiosity and humor along the way. I work collaboratively with you in the therapeutic process and use a humanistic and psychodaymanic approach to therapy. I also offer space for creative expression when words are not enough, or are not accessible.
As a creative arts therapist, I value the ability and opportunity to bring creative expression into the therapy space. In addition to verbal therapy, I believe working from a creative space can offer a new and rich language of self expression, as well as a deeper connection and understanding of ones self.
I have been practicing psychotherapy and creative arts therapy for over 14 years. I have worked extensively in psychiatric hospitals in NYC and have provided individual as well as group therapy. I have worked with children, teens, adults and geriatrics in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. I have worked in school systems and I have also worked with substance use/addiction.
